Beginning in the 1980s, SYRICI has undertaken
international exchange and cooperation with many corporations and
scientific research entities in many countries and regions of the
world. In the 1990s, it entered into substantial cooperation agreements
with large multinational companies. Among them is the pesticide
discovery research and development being conducted in cooperation
with Rohm & Haas and Dow Agrosciences, including the sending
of scientists from each side to the other for short-term exchanges.
Through this cooperation, SYRICI has not only been able to learn
new methods and ways of thinking in pesticide discovery, but has
also successfully developed many new pesticides for which SYRICI
holds proprietary intellectual property rights. This has provided
a relatively good foundation for the development of pesticide discovery
work, for both SYRICI and China......

SYRICI was transformed into a large-scale science and technology
enterprise directly under the central government. Currently, it
