In order to fully implement the policies of the national and Liaoning provincial science and technology congresses, to accelerate our province¡¯s march toward independent innovation and development of its high tech industry during the period of the ¡°Eleventh Five-year Plan,¡± and to select important projects that will enhance the overall development of Liaoning province, on the afternoon of March 3rd, 2006, a group traveling with the director of the provincial Science and Technology Department, Zhao Mingpeng, came to SYRICI to investigate.
President Li Bin, Vice President Xu Longhe and Assistant to the President Xu Weichang accompanied Director Zhao and his group as they visited the synthesis building, greenhouses for bioactivity screening, the safety evaluation center and other facilities at the institute¡¯s agrichemical campus.Afterwards, President Li gave a complete introduction of SYRICI¡¯s situation and the development of the next phase¡¯s planned four major projects.Director Zhao congratulated SYRICI on the success it has attained during the period of the Tenth Five-year Plan.Moreover, in accordance with the spirit of Liaoning Science and Technology Congress, he indicated some key development areas for this phase, emphasizing that the provincial government will integrate the recently announced policies in order to accelerate successful transformation and strengthen applied research.At the same time, he hopes SYRICI can more deeply be involved in building the local economy during the years of the Eleventh Five-year Plan. |
