Co-sponsored by CIESC and Shenyang government, jointly hosted by SYRICI and Shenyang Science and Technology Bureau, the 2012 China Green Chemical Development summit forum was held successfully at Shenyang Hotel on June 27th and 28th.

Mr. Yang Yuanyi, vice president of CIESC, presided the opening ceremony. Mr. Li Yongwu, chairman of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, made an opening speech, and Mr. Xu Xingjia, undersecretary general of Shenyang government, made the speech of welcome.

In this forum, 5 members of Chinese Academy of Engineering and 1 of Chinese Academy of Science made academic reports about the global green chemical, the opportunities and challenges that our country had been facing with. More than 200 representatives that were from national petroleum and chemical research institutes, higher teaching institutions and production enterprises attended the conference.

Recently, with the support of our government, the relevant enterprises, research institutes and the higher teaching institutions have done many research works about applied basic research and practical technology in the field of green chemical and they have gotten some good results. The green chemical will not only bring a revolutionary change to the traditional chemical industry, but also it’ll push the establishment and the development of new industries, such as green manufacturing industry, green energy industry and green agriculture.

This forum will play a strong role in promoting the healthy development of national green chemical and quickening the green chemical development.

During the forum, the representatives also visited SYRICI.
