From Aug 10th to 14th, co-sponsored by IUPAC and ACS-AGRO, the 13th IUPAC International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry was held in San Francisco, USA. SYRICI, as representative of Sinochem Group, attended the congress.

“Corp, Environment, and Public Health Protection: Technologies for a changing world” was the theme of this congress, which formed by nine topic symposias: emerging issues and challenges, agricultural biotechnology, discovery and synthesis, ecosystem and human exposure and risk assessment, environmental fate and metabolism, formulation and application, mode of action and resistance management, residues in food and feed, stewardship, regulation and outrearch. More than 1000 representatives from all over the world participated in the symposias and numerous specialists were invited to analyze the industrial development situation, the technologies and the tendencies. Mr. Liu Changling of SYRICI made a report named”Efficient Approach for Discovery of Novel Agrochemical Candidates: Intermediate Derivatization Method”. He shared with other specialists his experiences. According to the presentation, coumoxystrobin, pyraoxystrobin and other efficient fungicides were developed successfully by using the method.

The IUPAC International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry has been held every four years from 1967. It’s the first time in USA. In order to expand the Sinochem Group’s influence in the international pesticide industry, we put the logo of Sinochem on the congress official website. We also introduced the agrochemical business to the specialists, such as GLP, novel pesticides and talent demand.

In addition, the researchers from SYRICI demonstrated the novel pesticide development via poster, which made Sinochem Group obtain an extensive attention.
