On Oct. 30th, the 1st National Pesticide Industry Environmental Protection &Development forum was held in Shanghai. Xu Weichang, executive vice-president of SYRICI, was invited and made a keynote speech titled The current situation of the national pesticide industry environmental protection and the future development.

This conference was to resolve the pesticide enterprises “three waste” problem, realize the cleaner production and the transformation& upgrading under the new situation of environmental protection and exchange. Aiming at the pollutant discharge in the industrialization development, the residual during use, the deficiency of products, Mr. Xu made an important report. He pointed out in the report that the environmental protection problem involved technology, production, administration, management, etc., that it was extremely difficult but overwhelming. In addition, he made a detailed explanation and presentation of the common wastewater treatment technology.

By the end of the 14th AgroChemEx, sponsored by CCPIA and operated by Goootech, this conference was the 1st environmental protection development forum. More than 130 representatives from state related environmental protection department, scientific research institutions, chemical industrial park and key enterprises attended. They also made reports on policies and regulations, pollutant discharge, technology research and development, practical application, etc.
